Heritage Tour of Cebu and Negros
Both Cebu and Negros have a rich history and cultural heritage. This trip focuses on the Spanish heritage of Cebu and the history of the sugarcane industry and the haciendas of Negros. Arrival in Cebu City. Overnight in Cebu City.
Full day in-depth visit of Cebu: visit Magellan’s Cross, Cebu Cathedral, Basilica del Sto.Niño, Museo Sugbo, Fort San Pedro, The Yap-San Diego Ancestral house and other historical sights of interest. Overnight in Cebu City.
Full day tour to Carcar and Dalaguete.Together with Vigan, Taal and Silay, Carcar is recognized as one of the most important heritage towns in the Philippines. We will make a walking tour of Carcar. Continue to Dalaguete. Visit the San Guillermo de Aquitania Parish Church. Visit the small museum and make a tour by pedicab through Dalaguete. Overnight in Cebu City.
Fly from Cebu City to Bacolod. Visit the Negros Museum as well as the Dizon-Ramos Museum. Visit the Museum Negrense de La Salle.
Overnight in Bacolod.
Full day in-depth visit of Silay City. Silay is also known as the “Paris of Negros”. The town has more than 30 houses that have been declared heritage houses. We visit the Balay Negrenses, the Hofileña House and the Jalandoni House amongst others. We will meet some of the owners of a heritage house. Overnight in Bacolod.
Today we will focus on the history of sugarcane. We will visit the “Ruins” or what remains of the Don Mariano Lacson Mansion,The sugar mills of the Hawaiian-Philippine Company and the hacienda Sta.Rosalia aka the Gaston mansion. Overnight in Bacolod.
