Hacienda Crafts Company is based in Hacienda Santa Rosalia, Manapla, Negros Occidental. Joey Gaston and Christina Borromeo-Gaston founded the company in the early 1990’s. The company taps Negros Island artistry and sustainable natural materials to create distinctive high-end lamps, furniture, and furnishings. Our hand-crafted designs go beyond borders of culture and taste. Using indigenous weaving techniques, Hacienda Crafts breathes warmth and rustic charm into every contemporary living space.
Christina Borromeo-Gaston: “I am a crafter and I enjoy creating things out of “nothing”. It is also exciting that what others consider ordinary in terms of materials, can become extraordinary products with design and craftsmanship. This has been our experience at Hacienda Crafts. We feel a sense of pride every time we deliver items to our buyers, sharing our culture, talent and skills woven into our products. It has been a privilege to participate in the enhancement of the many communities we have worked with. Everyone has the power of change in their hands and in our own small way, we are able to affect this at Hacienda Crafts.”Sugarcane farming is a 12-month crop on Negros. Hacienda Crafts is a means for sugarcane workers and their families to augment their income by manufacturing sustainable products for the domestic and export markets. It originally sourced skills and materials from its network of grassroots communities in the area but has since expanded to working with other groups in other parts of the Philippines.
