This tour focuses on the indigenous people of Palawan, an island best known for its stunning natural beauty.
Day 1
Arrival on Coron. Meet your driver who will transfer your hotel. Rest of the day free at leisure.
Overnight at Coron Soleil Garden Resort
Day 2
Today you will explore the ancestral domain of the Tagbanwa people by private boat. First we will visit the famous Lake Kayangan by boat. We recommend a very early departure so we can visit the lake in the morning hours before the crowds arrive.
We return to Coron and board a minivan that will take us to Salvacion. From there we will explore the ancestral domain of the Tagbanwa (aka Tagbanua) minority. The Tagbanwa people are one of the oldest ethnic groups in the country.
The area comprises 19 islands and islets. We head for the jewel in the crown: Majalem aka Black Island”. Here we will spend several hours swimming and exploring. We will also visit San Isidoro, a Tagbanwa village. Learn about the local lifestyle of this lovely village and meet some of the people. Return to Coron.

Day 3
Free morning until our driver picks you up to transfer you to Coron pier. Board the Montenegro ferry that departs at 1200. Enjoy the boat ride and arrive at El Nido at around 1600. A driver will meet you and transfer you to the hotel.

Day 4
El NIdo is famous for island hopping. Bacuit Bay is the stunning setting with jutting limestone cliffs, white powdery sand beaches and crystal clear water. Enjoy a barbecue lunch on the beach.
Enjoy a full day of island hopping with your private boat.
Visit Helicopter Island, Hidden Beach, Secret Beach & Matinloc Shrine. We recommend an early departure to avoid crowds.

Day 5
Your driver will transfer you to Sabang.
Overnight at the Sheridan Beach Resort.
Day 6
Today, you will visit the Underground River, part of the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park. The Underground River is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The canoe tour in to the Cave itself lasts approximately 45 minutes, and takes you into the first 1.5 kilometers of the Underground River cave. Experience the beauty of Stalagmites and Stalactites, which took thousands of years to form, and the Swift and Bat populations that inhabit the cave.
On your way back to the hotel, walk along the jungle trail together with your trail guides for almost 2 hours
Return to the hotel.

Day 7
Drive to Puerto Princesa. After you have settled in, your guide will pick you up from the hotel for a half day tour of some of the main sights of Puerto Princesa.
You will visit the crocodile farm as wells as the next door Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Centre. Get to know Palawan’s history at The Palawan Heritage Centre. The visit at the Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm is mostly about the scenery of the beautiful countryside and dramatic mountain skyline aside from the common sight of prisoners in colorful shirts who live, work and roam freely. Visit the Plaza Cuartel, a restored ruin of a World War Two garrison. Finally visit the Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral, an important edifice for the devout Filiipinos, dating back to 1872.

Day 8
Today you will visit another indigenous group of the Philippines. Most people know the Batak from Sumatra, Indonesia. It is not certain that the Batak of Palawan are related to them. The Batak used to be hunter-gatherers. There are only a couple of hundred Batak left on Palawan. Today you will meet some of them. You will learn about the traditional lifestyle and their daily life.
Overnight will be again at Canvas Boutique Hotel Puerto Princesa.
